SLIDE BAR BIOGRAPHY

With the mileage logged and dues paid, SlideBar is tuning up for another round in 2009.

Founders Buddy and Lyle Parman formed SlideBar in 1987. The band toured for 17 years, playing over 300 shows a year in the majority of the lower 48 states and Canada before taking a hiatus in 2004.

Throughout the years they've shared the stage with the best musicians in the four state area. SlideBar has worked with over 150 major label acts such as Garth Brooks, Brad Paisley, Toby Keith, Travis Tritt, Montgomery Gentry, Steve Warner, and T. Graham Brown.

Co-founder and lead guitarist Lyle Parman has been busy musically since the band's time out 2004. Taking on the role of road manager and band leader for solo artist Luke Stricklin, Lyle expanded his knowledge of the road and racked up thousands of frequent flier miles thanks to the rigorous schedule. Crowded stadiums, the Ryman Auditorium, Fan Fair, the Talladega Speedway, and The Grand Ole Opry are just a few of the iconic venues that Lyle has performed at in the past few years. He also gained national exposure playing on CMT, GAC, the CBS Evening News, The Today Show, CNN, Fox News, and on many other media outlets.

It was a great ride, but it was also a constant reminder that there was unfinished business in Oklahoma. After rubbing elbows with some of the world's best players, Lyle, along with three pro players he met along the way have joined together to fire up the honky tonk machine once again.

Welcoming Terry Day on steel guitar, Matt Murphy on bass guitar and vocals, and Jamie Dotson on drums and vocals assures that SlideBar is in good hands and road ready. Bookings are being contracted and rehearsals have begun. SlideBar will be coming to a city near you...very soon!
